5 Safety Tips on Packing Fragile and Delicate Items in Sydney Moving Boxes

Packing delicate and fragile items in Sydney moving boxes is a must if you want them to survive the trip from your old house to your new home. As you may know, these items can break easily. If you don't provide them with ample protection, chances are, you won't be able to use them after you've moved in to your new home. Therefore, it is only logical that you pack fragile items properly to keep them safe and in good condition. Here are some nifty hints and tips to help you out.

Tip No 1. Depending on the type of boxes that you're planning to use, make sure you reinforce them to prevent the fragile items from slipping out of the boxes when you load them into the moving truck. For instance, if the moving boxes are made from cardboard, you should tape over the seams at the bottom of each box to make sure that the boxes will be able to withstand the weight of the items. But if the boxes are made from plastic, you can do away with this particular task since plastic boxes are more durable than those that are made from cardboard.

Tip No 2. To prevent fragile items from getting damaged during transport, it isn't enough that you pack them in Sydney moving boxes alone. Before you box them up, make sure you wrap them with packing paper, bubble wrap, or padding. This will protect items such as crockery, glassware, and crystals from cracks and dents. However, see to it that you wrap the items individually to prevent scratches.

Tip No 3. Fill the boxes with cushioning materials like shredded paper or packing peanuts. Not only this will help absorb the impact in case the moving boxes collide with a hard object, it can also prevent the fragile items from moving and shifting while they are being transported.

Tip No 4. When placing fragile items in Sydney moving boxes, you should avoid packing them together with hard and heavy objects. Otherwise, the weight of the heavy objects might crush them and cause irreversible damage. Always remember that extremely hard and heavy items should be packed separately.

Tip No 5. Once you're done placing all the items in Sydney moving boxes, make sure you label them properly. Mark them as "fragile" and seal them up with adhesive tape. This will help remind everyone to exercise extreme caution when handling and moving the boxes containing the fragile and delicate items.
